Save Old Castle Lachlan Fund
Welcome to Ancestral Castle Lachlan
The Lachlan Trust of Canada is a registered charity dedicated to raising awareness of our Scottish & Celtic ancestors. A current major project is raising funds to preserve a 700 year old castle on ancestral grounds in Strathlachlan, Argyll, Scotland. We have already preserved a medieval chapel there. Our heritage is more than the preservation of historic buildings in Scotland. It is the history, values and experiences of the people in the Highlands over the centuries. We aim to make this area a valued destination for visitors while respecting its natural beauty and historic importance, and supporting the local community. People will be able to visit and feel that they have had a very special rich experience in a remarkable unique place.
The Save old Castle Lachlan (SOCL) Fund and the SOCL Club were formed by the Lachlan Trust of Canada, a registered charity, and the registered not for profit Clan Lachlan Association of Canada Inc(CLA). Make a charitable donation now for SOCL Club membership.
CA21, $25.00 (£12.50) brings a number of benefits. It gives online access to the new E Book
Lachlan Library. We have started with over 90 books on Highland History and Culture . These are E Books in EPUB, MODI and PDF formats to be compatible with all E Book readers..
For nine years we have produced the "clan lachlan" CD giving the clan records, history, photos, traditions, tales, legends, genealogy, memoirs, family histories for the members of Clan Lachlan. This comprises about 100 E books and is updated on a continuing basis. All this clan information will also be put in the Lachlan Library; the total contents of the library willbe on a DVD and filed annually in the National Library of Scotland which gives a permanent record.
Lachlan Publisher
From drafts submitted by members we would publish Lachlan Edition E Books covering personal & family memoirs, family history, stories, poetry, pioneer experiences, wartime experiences etc. Your contribution would be available as an E Book in the Library for readers in future generations; make your own fragment of immortality!
We believe that this growing library will help younger and future generations to understand and cherish their heritage. For detail and contents of the library.
